Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson
Saint Romain
In Saint-Romain, a secluded side valley of the Côte de Beaune, brothers Franck and Fred Buisson have been writing their own unique success story for years – with nature, conviction, and a healthy dose of stubbornness.
Since 2000, the estate has been fully organic, and in 2009, they converted to biodynamic farming. Franck takes care of the terroir, Fred of the vinification. Their philosophy: no intervention, no compromises. Spontaneous fermentation, no fining, minimal filtration – and recently, experiments with amphorae.
The Revue du Vin de France praises the "unembellished authenticity" of the wines and sees Saint-Romain on the rise thanks to the brothers.
Their vineyards produce dense, saline white wines and vibrant, unpretentious, red-fruited Pinot Noirs.
“We vinify by feel. If something is technically perfect, it’s usually dead.” – Franck Buisson (Terre de Vins, 2022)
Franck & Fred Buisson prove: Those who take terroir seriously don’t need a Grand Cru to make great wines.
