Champagne Emmanuel Brochet
Villers-aux-Noeuds
Emmanuel Brochet cultivates a single, 2.5-hectare vineyard, "Le Mont Benoit," demonstrating the profound depth a place can reveal when its character is truly understood. His Champagnes are straightforward, serious, and yet surprisingly vibrant.
In 2000, he replanted the old family vineyard, and today he works biodynamically, using both horses and his own hands. Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay grow side by side, each parcel vinified separately. The wines are aged in oak, with extended lees maturation and no fining.
Critics like Jamie Goode call him "the ultimate site-expressive grower." His Champagnes exhibit a rare balance between power and precision.
"I don't want a loud wine. I want a clear thought." – Emmanuel Brochet (Terres de Vins, 2019)
Brochet's Champagnes are like him: concentrated, open, unpretentious – and full of character.
