Champagne Geoffroy
Mareuil-sur-Aÿ
The Geoffroy family has been working in Aÿ for generations, but it was Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy who transformed the winery into one of the region's most exciting grower-producers. Freshness, elegance, and structure are his hallmarks.
His 14 hectares are primarily located in Cumières, Hautvillers, and Fleury-la-Rivière. He practices sustainable viticulture, focusing on biodiversity, minimal intervention, and the avoidance of herbicides. Harvesting takes place very early to preserve freshness and acidity. Some of the base wines are aged in oak barrels without malolactic fermentation, which imparts structure and length to the wines.
British critic Tom Stevenson praises the "complex, vibrant style," and German sommeliers like Sebastian Russold also consider Geoffroy to be among the "Champagnes with character and culinary potential."
“For me, freshness isn’t a style – it’s a statement.” – Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy (Terre de Vins, 2018)
Geoffroy champagnes don’t fit the mold – they break it with personality and energy.
