Domaine / Maison Olivier Leflaive
Puligny-Montrachet
Olivier Leflaive is a phenomenon: musician, hotelier, visionary – and a winemaker through and through. His name represents a rare combination of tradition, joie de vivre, and uncompromising quality.
After his uncle's death, Olivier took over the management of the renowned family estate, Domaine Leflaive, in 1982, but left in 1994 to forge his own path. Since then, the "Olivier Leflaive" estate has been a pioneer of "négoce haute couture": no simply purchased grapes, but hand-picked varieties from long-standing partner growers, vinified with the highest standards. The estate also owns its own vineyards, for example in Meursault, Puligny, and Chassagne.
In the cellar, Leflaive focuses on precision, minimal use of oak, and as little intervention as possible. Many wines are produced biodynamically or organically – such as the highly regarded "Oncle Vincent" line. Olivier himself is a great communicator and host. His boutique hotel in the heart of Puligny invites guests to taste and understand the world of wine.
“We are more than winemakers – we are translators of a terroir.” – Olivier Leflaive (Decanter, 2020)
His wines, from Bourgogne Blanc to the Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet, are appreciated worldwide – by sommeliers like Pascaline Lepeltier and three-Michelin-starred restaurants alike. They combine precision with charm, without any airs. Just like Olivier himself.
