Raymond Dupont-Fahn is a unique individual – in his work as well as in his personality. His wines are the result of unorthodox methods, great conviction, and keen observation.
He manages a small estate with vineyards in Monthélie, Meursault, and the Languedoc. The vines often come from mass selection, yields are extremely low, and aging is done entirely without new oak. Spontaneous fermentation, extended lees aging, no fining – everything is geared towards naturalness and vibrancy.
In sommelier circles, his wines are considered a hidden gem: unusual, vibrant, and with tremendous development in the bottle. His Bourgogne Blanc "Chaumes de Perrieres" in particular regularly causes a stir.
Raymond Dupont-Fahn is not mainstream. His wines demand attention – but they reward it with depth and character.
